Punitive Damages awarded by Jury in Whistleblower case.

MSS represented an employee who was wrongfully terminated in this case against his former employer. Our client came to learn that his employer was not paying overtime in accordance with law. Acting, first as a concerned employee, and ultimately as a whistleblower our client brought these concerns to the attention of his employer and his co-workers. His employer, who was violating the law, fired him within one business day of these revelations. After a 5 day trial MSS prevailed and the jury awarded a six figure verdict after finding that Shane was wrongfully terminated. The award included lost wages as well as punitive damages because his employer terminated our client with actual malice.
